Rebellion!

I regret having to inform you of this.

Leia Organa Solo recently began a rebellion. No, this is not good news. Instead of fighting against evilness and the dark side, she has become one of them. Angry Birds took over her mind. Sadly, she also took Luke Skywalker, her twin brother, with her. Her lair: the underground of Coruscant......aka Houston.
This forced Qui-Gon and myself to hold a secret rebel meeting. We have a plan to stop the Imperial Angry Birds, once and for all.

Untitled Novel Chapter 1

So, I've recently had to take a break from fantasy, due to erm circumstances. So, that means that I had to start a new novel, since the one I was writing was fantasy. This one is untitled and realistic fiction.

The smell of the greasy kitchen filled my nose and the loud curses from the teenagers I was eyeing so intently two tables over echoed in my ears. The table I was standing over wasn’t getting very clean, since rags don’t just clean tables on their own. The Louisiana summer heat wafted in through the doorway and made the occupants of the small pizza parlor sweat even more.
The conversation I was straining to hear was nearly unintelligible, except for the constant f-bombs, s words, and any other word that could be a curse word.
Those idiots.
I was seething with anger because the teens were making a huge mess. They’d ordered 5 pizzas, 2 of them were gone, another one was out of the box and on the floor and the other two were still being consumed. The girls were all tan and our worlds definition of beautiful. The guys were preppy as ever, their shirts hugging their well toned torsos. At least they had pants that actually fit.
At my school, I seem to be the only person who gives a crap about making a successful life in the world , and restoring adult’s faith in our generation. Although after all my studying of other teens, I doubt that will happen: this generation is doomed to be unemployed, orange spray tanned, pants on the ground, brain washed adults.
I shook my head and tore my gaze from the happy group. I gave the table a quick wipe down, then headed back towards the front counter.
“Took you long enough Margie!” My brother taunted me with the name I hated more than anything.
“Shut up Addie!” I shot back and his freckled face twisted into a frown.
I threw the rag at him and continued on my way.
When I entered the kitchen I was blasted with a wave of dry heat coming from the pizza oven.
“Heads up!” A voice said right as a floury apron hit me square in the face.
I wiped flour out of my eyes to see Channing doubled over with laughter. I glared at him.
“The obnoxious teenagers are still there. And one of their pizza’s is dying a slow death on the ground.” I took off my name tag and stuffed it in the drawer by the back door.
He had a look of exasperation on his face. “Well, you’ll defiantly have fun cleaning up their mess.”
I laughed, “Ha! No, you can leave that job for Addison. My shifts over, and I have better things to do.”
I strolled out the back door and across the yard to our small house, it’s porch drooping sadly, weeds over growing in the yard, along with the destroyed crawfish holes. The grass was yellowing and dry, but that wasn’t anything new with all this heat. The awning above our porch was also droopy, it’s ratted ends flapping in the breeze that was just as hot as the pizza oven.
Our house had gotten to looking quite sad, because with the resturaunt to run, we didn’t have much time to weed the garden, repaint the house, or anything like that. It was supposed to be my job to do all those things, but I now worked 2 different jobs, and the time in between was spent at school, doing homework, or writing star wars fan fiction.
Nobody stopped me. Both my brothers knew keeping busy was my way of dealing with grief. My parents had been dead nearly 3 years, and yet I still wasn’t over it. I’m afraid that if I stop doing things that I’ll have a break down again.
Our huge black lab bounded up to greet me, getting dry dirt all over my white shirt. I rubbed him behind the ears and continued across the yard absent mindedly.
Inside the house was better than the outside. It was homey, full of antiques I had spent my money on, or collected from my Grandma, and always, for some reason, smelling like pine trees. I had tried to find out /why/ on earth it smelled like that when we lived in Louisiana. Channing says it’s because of the time when we left our Christmas tree up until it was so dead that all the needles were brown.

That was the same time of year our parents died. We didn’t have the heart to celebrate, or take down the decorations. Or clean for that matter. We lived in a pig sty until Channing officially decided he was the man of the family and he got the house back in working order as well as the resturaunt.

It’s hard, as you can imagine, 3 kids running the place themselves. Channing was only 19 that day three years ago when it was reopened after being closed for months on end. I’m pretty sure the town rejoiced when it opened again. We were the only really authentic place to get pizza, without having to go to Baton Rouge.

Our dad was Italian, and our mom a pure blood Cajun. It’s an very odd mix, but somehow it worked well. Dad opened this pizza place a year after Addison was born, and it’s been running smoothly ever since.

Up in my room, which was small and so messy that you could even see the floor, I flopped down on the bed.
Something hard jabbed me in the back and I sat up. “Dang it!” Rubbing my lower back I looked to see that I had just lay down on Qui-Gon Jinn and his lightsaber had poked me.

I picked him up gingerly and placed him with all the other figures part of my collection. I had every Star Wars character from the prequels available (which meant I had around 50 Padme/Queen Amidala figures), and was working on getting the originals. So far I had all the Luke figures, two Hans, and Darth Sidious.

I sat down at my desk and stared at the array of binders, text books, and loose leaf paper. School started tomorrow, and I was still in the process of getting my binders organized.
Absent mindedly, I began sorting through them, stacking paper and getting rid of homework sheets from last year.
I then took a very long and very hot shower. When I stepped out and into the cold bathroom (the air conditioning was on full blast), I shivered. With a towel wrapped around myself I studied the girl I saw in the mirror.
I have black, which was wildly curly when dry and very hard to tame. My skin was olive toned and I almost never got a zit, much to the envy of Addison. I wasn’t skinny, but I wasn’t fat. Let’s just say that I have some hips on me.
I slipped on my pjs and fell into bed. Soon, I was sound asleep.

Didn't Make the Cut

It all happens to everyone, even the greatest of actors.
You didn't make the cut. You failed the audition. You weren't right for the part.
The acting experiance or your theater career is not complete until you have not made an audition.

Recently, It was decided that I would not be auditioning for the upcoming play at the Lynden Theater, due to overlapping schedules with my brothers' scout stuff. I am pretty upset about that, because I didn't even get a chance to audition.

If you don't make the audition, don't beat yourself up about it. It doesn't mean you are a failure and you should never act again, it only means that you weren't right for the part.

So, that was my post for the day. Exciting right? Just my way of telling you that I will not be acting in any play/musical until the spring. *upset*

Advice with Qui-Gon Jinn- First Kiss, Stage Kisses, and Dating

So, I got one question from a friend of mine. I'll keep their name private for erm..privacy reasons.

Question: I haven't had my first kiss or even my first boyfriend! How do I get it? Is there something wrong with me? Guys must not like me!

Yes, I know, this has nothing to do with acting, but I will bring it around to acting and probably Star Wars too.

First of all, NOTHING IS WRONG WITH YOU!
I'm older than you, and I haven't gotten my first kiss. I know someone who's 17 and hasn't gotten their first kiss, but does it really matter?
We live in a world where its appropreiate and encouraged for 11 and 12 year olds to date and kiss. Even 13 and 14, we probably shouldn't be off kissing people.

They say you're a loser if you haven't had your first kiss by, say, the end of middle school? Well, thats not true. Just face it. Its not true.
Whether you've kissed anyone or not, it doesn't change how cool you are or who you are.
I personally think that dating and kissing is wasted on anyone who you couldn't see yourself being with the rest of your life. I've been down that road before, dating a boy that I only dated because I wanted to get the first relationship over with.

The way I see it, I want my first kiss to really be special, even if it is a bad kiss at least on my part since I am a major newb when it comes to kissing. I want it to be like Han and Leia's first kiss, very special to them.
Or or, better example, Ginny and Harry's first kiss, since we could all tell Harry was really bad at it, but it was still special to them.

And I used Han and Leia as an example and not Anakin and Padme. Because Ani and Padme's relationship ended really really badly.

What about stage kissing?
In all honesty, I'm terrified that my first kiss will be a stage kiss. I don't really have to worry about this any time soon, since I'm only 14, I doubt I'll be getting any kissing roles. But later on in life, I'm going to have at least a couple kissy roles.
I guess all i can say for that is, If you don't want to kiss someone on stage, don't even go for the part. If you get the part anyway, suck it up and just do it. It's acting, it doesn't mean anything.

Thats all I have to say on kissing.
Monologue coming up: My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

May the Force be with you!

First Book Review

(Following the format of a friend's book reviews.......you know who you are.)

The Cat of Bubastes-G.A. Henty

Imagine living in a nation where killing a sacred cat is a capital offense. Thutmose III's Egypt, in Moses' day, was such a region.
The priest Ameres and his family live in this land. Life is turned upside down when the son, Chebron, accidentally killes the sacred cat of Bubastes. This incident leads to secrecy, grief, and flight as one harrowing adventure follows another. Their best hope of a safe haven for youthful Chebron and his sister is the land of the Rebu, itself a conquered nation under Egyptian rule. To reach that distant land, they must flee through closely guarded Egyptian exits. Then they must embark on a challenging journey through unfamiliar lands populated by unfamiliar people and conquer numerous geographical hindrances.
First impressions:
I was extremely excited to begin this book because of all I've heard about Henty. The summary of the book looked exciting, and I was so enthused to begin it. Then........I opened it and began reading. I was wondering why we were being made to read it (this book was a required book for my history class at my co-op).

Positive:
The book quickly began to get interesting.
The names aren't that hard to pronounce.
There are girl characters present, even though they're not main characters.
Clean language.
Love story present.

Negative:
The beginning of the book started out slow and remained that way for the first three chapters or so.
The chapters are extremely long.
The book was written in the 1880s, and therefore the language is outdated in some places, and is therefore sometimes confusing to understand. (Fagots. I kept asking one of my friends, "What is a fagot?" It's actually rather simple. Look it up in a dictionary.)
The love story wasn't big enough. :P

Overall opinion:
GREAT for study of Ancient Egypt, or even just for an adventure novel.

Rating:
PG
For difficulty in understand the language in which it was written. Some younger kids might be able to handle it, others may not.

Recommend it?
I definitely do!

Books vs. E-books

In the old days, everyone had books. Now, a lot of people are switching over to e-books. Why? There are certainly advantages and disadvantages to both.
Oh, and this does relate to both Star Wars and Acting. There are numerous Star Wars books and actors sometimes perform plays based off of books.
This post was also inspired by Star Wars. My pastor has recently switched over to Star Wars e-books, and guess who gets all of his Star Wars books tonight? :D I believe I will now have more Star Wars books than Luke. **evil laughter** :P Love you, BBF!

These following pros and cons are from the magazine God's World News. This issue was February 2010. (Some of them are mine.........)

Pros for the e-book:
  • You don't have to wait to go to the library or bookstore to get a new book. You can download it from the comfort of your own home.
  • An e-book reader takes up less space than a book.
  • Your new e-book library may be bigger than your public library.
Cons for the e-book:
  • What if your battery's gone and you have to get that book finished for school? Now what are you going to do?
  • No matter how many e-books you have, they still won't be heavy enough to press your leaf collection.
  • Imagine the homeless bookworm population.
  • Bookshelves-R-Us may as well be selling firewood.
  • A boy looks foolish enough offering to carry a girl's e-books for her.
  • What will you do with that nifty souvenir bookmark with the gold tassle?
  • E-books are sort of an expensive way to prop up a wobbly table leg.....CRUNCH!
  • You can't hide your birthday money inside an e-book.
  • How do I get the author to autograph my e-book?
  • Don't try to mark your place by folding the corner of a page in your e-book.....CRACK!
  • "Uh, oh, I lost my library book," becomes, "Uh, oh. I lost my library!" (That would totally be me. I usually lose at least one of the many books I read at one time daily. That sentence makes absolutely no sense except to me.)
  • You can't build strong muscles carrying boxes of e-books when you move. (Or when Mom gets home from the library, as what happens to me. I've got arm muscles.)
  • Don't you love the smell of old books? There is no such thing as old e-books, and they just smell like plastic.
  • With a regular book, you never have to get your brother to help you load the latest software update.
  • You can't have fun making the cat jump by slamming your e-book shut.
Pros for the book:
  • Look at the cons for the e-book. That sums it all up.
  • I have nothing to replace my bookshelf with. I seriously can't think of what else I'd put in my room.
Cons for the book:
  • School life would be so much easier if you had only an e-book. You probably wouldn't need any supplies other than the reader. Backpacks would go out of use. You'll tell your kids, "I remember when we had things we carried millions of books around called backpacks." The kids give you incredulous looks. "Dark Ages!" Yeah.........
  • More space in your house.

Suffering and Silence--Second Part

This is the ending of the first chapter. I hope you enjoy and I always welcome comments, as well as constructive criticism.! ;)

“Padmé, look at this baby. He represents the hope for the galaxy. He's your son. He needs you. He needs you alive. What help can you give him when you're dead?”

“He's dead, Obi-Wan. What do I have to live for?”
“You have two children to live for. I'm certain this is what Anakin would have wanted. He would have wanted you to teach your children how to be fair and right. He would have wanted them to be trained in the ways of the Jedi. Take him.”
Padmé took baby Luke in her arms. He was so small, yet Obi-Wan placed his hope in him. Luke opened his eyes and looked into his mother's eyes. They were so blue; blue like Anakin's. Obi-Wan was right. They needed her to live, not die.
Obi-Wan brought Leia over. She looked up at him with tears in her eyes. “They need me, Obi-Wan. I'm going to live for them.” Obi-Wan smiled and looked down at Leia. He seemed about to say something when Padmé laid a small hand on his arm. He looked up at her. “Obi-Wan, there's still good in him. I can feel it.”
He slowly shook his head. “No, he's gone. I killed him.”
She shook her head sadly. “No, he didn't die. Anakin Skywalker may be dead, buried within this Sith who is alive.”
Luke and Leia started to cry. Padmé gently patted Luke on the back. “There now, don't cry. Mama's got you, Luke. You're safe here with me and sister. There's no reason to fuss.” She reached out her other arm for Leia and kissed her forehead. “You're such a darling girl. You don't need to cry. I won't let anything happen to you. No, I won't let it.”
“You need your rest, Padmé,” Obi-Wan commanded. “And so do the babies. I have somethings to do. I'll come back and check on you in a few hours.”
Padmé nodded. Obi-Wan took Leia and laid her in a crib. Luke was gently placed beside her. Padmé smiled. “Look at how beautiful they look together.” Obi-Wan nodded his head, then left.

He contacted Yoda to come for the most important meeting that they would have.

Yoda and Senator Bail Organa came to the station a few hours later. Obi-Wan had a meeting room set up and waiting. Yoda and Senator Organa sat down. Obi-Wan paced back and forth. “Calm your mind, you must, Obi-Wan,” Yoda said. “Or no decision you will make.”
Padmé came in then, dressed in black. She was holding her children. Obi-Wan pulled a chair out for her and then he too sat down. “A terrible thing, this has been to the galaxy and Jedi,” Yoda said. “Protect ourselves, we must.”
Senator Organa leaned forward. “We must protect the children and Senator Amidala as much as possible.”
Yoda nodded and slowly blinked his large eyes. “Hide them from the Emperor we must.”
Padmé did not look up. Obi-Wan looked at the children in her arms. He licked his lips. “I think we need to separate the children from each other and their mother.”
Senator Organa nodded his head. “I will take the girl. My wife and I will adopt her. She will be raised as a princess on Alderaan.”
“Good, good,” Yoda approved. “Leia Organa, she will become.”
“I will take Luke to his family on Tatooine. I will also stay there, living nearby so as to watch over his upbringing,” Obi-Wan said. “And then I shall begin his training in the way of the Jedi when he is old enough.”
Senator Organa asked, “What will you do, Master Yoda?”
“To Dagobah, I will go. Safe I will be there.”
Obi-Wan put a hand on Padmé's arm. “What will you do, Padmé?”
She replied, not looking up, “I will go to Naboo and go into hiding, taking the name Padmé Naberrie.”

Padmé was sitting by the window looking out into space. She was alone. The babies were being readied for their journeys. Bail Organa came in, holding Leia. “It is time for us to go.” She turned to him. Senator Organa held the baby out to her. Padmé cradled Leia close to her, gently rocking back and forth. “I charge you with the care of my darling. Teach her to be always good and right. Treat her like the jewel she is.” Senator Organa nodded, deeply moved by her words. Padmé looked into Leia's face once more, kissed her on the forehead, and hugged her tightly. Leia started to cry. “Take her and keep her safe.” Padmé handed Leia to Senator Organa and turned away, her shoulders shaking. He quickly left the room. Padmé hurried to a window and watched the ship bound for Alderaan depart and head into hyperspace. Another piece of Padmé's heart tore from her.

Obi-Wan noted the ship leave. He felt his heart sink. He had hoped that it wouldn't happen so soon and so fast. Ideally there would have been a few hours between both of the babies' leave taking, but there wasn't time. Yoda shuffled into the room beside him. “Obi-Wan, before you leave, a last mission for you, I have.”
Obi-Wan turned to face the little green alien. “What is it, Master?”
“Escort Miss Naberrie to Naboo and make sure she is safe. Then you will take young Skywalker to safety.”
“Won't that be dangerous? Someone on Naboo will be sure to recognize me.”
“Young Skywalker, remain with me he will. Be safe, you will. Now go, and prepare Miss Naberrie.”
Yoda turned to face out the window and Obi-Wan turned with a sigh towards the door.

“Padmé.”
“Is it time for Luke to leave, Obi-Wan?” There was no trace of tears in her voice, but it betrayed her feelings.
“It is time for you to leave. I'm escorting you to Naboo.”

Padmé picked up Luke, who was sleeping. “I love you, Luke Skywalker. I want to tell you something. You look like your daddy. He was a good man. And I know he would love you. I'll be watching you from afar. Obi-Wan will tell me about you and how you're growing up. I'll always be praying for you.”

Obi-Wan was staring at the streaks of light that were stars in space. They had gone to lightspeed a few minutes ago and he was nervous. Padmé was sitting in the co-pilot seat beside him, twirling a curl around one finger. “The last time I was escorted to Naboo, many strange things happened. I have a feeling that this time will be no different.” There was a pause. “Take good care of him, Obi-Wan. Don't let anyone spread lies about Anakin. You know best about when to tell him things, though.”
“I will make sure he is safe. Trust me.”
A tear slipped down Padmé's cheek. “I don't know if I can trust anymore.”

When the two arrived in Theed, it was raining softly. Obi-Wan hurried Padmé into a closed landspeeder and then jumped into the driver's seat. “I know it's a short walk to the river, but we're in here to protect you.” Obi-Wan explained, lifting a hand to shield him from questions. But she wasn't listening to him. Rather, she was staring out of the window, lost in her memories. She saw the palace, where so much had happened. The little walkway where Anakin had spoken of his belief that things would change in the galaxy in their lifetime. Padmé's lip quivered then, for the galaxy had changed. “If only...” her voice trailed off. Obi-Wan nodded sympathetically. “If only we knew what would happen.” She shook her head. “It's not like that at all.” She didn't want to speak though, and he didn't press her.

A boat was waiting at the dock to take them to the Lake Country. “I understand it's beautiful out there.” Obi-Wan remarked, trying to get Padmé off her thoughts. “I've always wanted to see more of Naboo than what I saw as a Padawan.”
“It's beautiful. Quiet and secluded.” Her eyes drifted to the horizon again.
“It should be the perfect place for you to hide then.”
“It's a wonderful place to hide in. No one ever bothers you.”
“It's alright to cry, you know. It won't make anyone think less of you. Sometimes when people have traumatic events happen to them, they turn bitter. I think crying would help a person release that bitterness.”
“No, I can't cry. It's not what I would do.”

Padmé walked up the steps of the balcony that she knew so well. It had stopped raining and the sun was shining just a bit. Obi-Wan came behind, marveling at the beauty of this planet. “There. There is where we were married.” Padmé pointed to a place next to the railing. He turned and looked at the place, noting how Padmé's face softened as she remembered something good about the past. A feeling tugged at his heart, telling him that this was one of the reasons Anakin had...but no. He couldn't spoil this memory of hers. “You're all settled, then? I think you'll be safe here.”
Padmé smiled at him. “Thank you, Obi-Wan. I will be fine.”
He took her hand and squeezed it softly. “Be brave, Padmé. We will be alright. I will contact you at least once a week, if not more. I will try to send holopictures of Luke so you can see how he is growing. I will also ask Senator Organa to do the same with Leia.”
She smiled gratefully again. “I don't want my children to be strangers, if I ever see them again. I understand that they can't see my picture.”
“Unfortunately, that's the way it has to be. Now, I will do the contacting. It's not safe for you to contact me. Padmé, I feel the Force in you-”
“No! Don't, please.”
He nodded. “I know. I know.” He hugged her.
“Obi-Wan, you're like a second father to me.”
“And you're like the daughter I will never have. I'll always be there for you. And I have something to ask you. I have Anakin's lightsaber. What do you want me to do with it?”
Padmé looked down and then out over the water. “Keep it. Save it for Luke.”

Padmé opened her eyes and leaned on the balcony. The sun was sparkling over the water and the air seemed to echo with Anakin's voice. Had it been only yesterday? Yesterday, when her twins were born. Yesterday, when her family was separated. Yesterday, when Obi-Wan brought her here. Yesterday, when she had vowed not to cry. A footstep sounded behind her, sounding very much like Anakin's. She turned, half expecting to see his beloved face with the easy smile and the teasing, intense look in his eyes. But she was alone. Padmé clutched the japor pendent and collapsed where she had stood as a bride, sobbing.

Advice with Qui-Gon Jinn

My first real post about acting!
Recently, I was cast into a role that I did not want. The play was Wind in the Willows and I had to play Mrs. Badger. (Originally Mr.Badger, but changed to Mrs on my behalf.)
Here is the description of the character: A wise but stern authoritarian. Old fashioned, stalwart, and kind.
Yea, not the most “fun” character to play. And I honestly do not think I played her very well. I think back, or I read a little of the script again, and I think, “Oh,  If I only I’d have done this, the character could have been awesome without breaking character!”
So today, my word of advice is: If you get a character you don’t like, make it your own! Of course, you can’t change the character completely, but you can still add little tidbits on to it. Exaggerate the personality maybe.
Here is a couple of examples.

Badger: Off to be human. Well let him them, if he can’t behave like an animal.

When this line came, I just said it and added a little humph in there. Now that I think, Badger is elderly, I could have made her sound more like the type of old lady that sits on her front porch muttering about those darned kids. That would have made the character more inresting.

Badger: Yes, and I’ve found you both eh? Safe and that is all that matters. Come, it is time we started for home.

Here, again, I just said this line with a strong voice. I sounded like a politician giving an unconvincing speech. In the description of the character, it notes that she has a kind side. Maybe I could have made her sound like a grumpy old lady trying to be kind and comforting, leading her young friends Rat and Mole away by the arm so that they’d stop dwelling on their fear.

Badger: Now, Toady, I don't want to give you pain, after all you've been through already, but seriously, don't you see what an awful fool you've been making of yourself? When are you going to be sensible and think of your friends, and try to be a credit to them?

This line, I didn’t do much with, But I think it was the only one it was ok to not do anything with. I was supposed to be lecturing Toad, who pretty much did his part in making that little line more inresting by his facial expressions. (Thank you Toad, by the way.)

So, that is the end of my advice, hope you enjoyed it. Ask me a question I just might answer it.
May the Force be with you.

Things Drama Has Taught Me #1

I'm going to start a series of posts about what drama has taught me and how it has helped me through the 4 years I've been involved with it.

Number One:
My biology course is placing a lot of emphasis on memorization of many things that are going to be of no use to my future life as an actress and mother. Some friends and I were discussing why we had to memorize the classification system of Kingdom Monera, and how pointless it is going to be to know the different classes and orders of a microscopic world that we can't even pronounce!
My years of being an actress have strengthened my memory, which will make it easier for this class and my other high school classes. I must also say "Thank You" to God, for giving me my strong memorization skills that I was apparently born with. I've never had to struggle with learning how to memorize things. I just do it.

My advice for all of you: Start memorizing things young! It's never useless to learn how to use your memory, whether it be for school, Bible memorization, or library books that are due.

Till next time!

Her Universe

Okay, girls, who is tired of going to the boys' section and buying Star Wars shirts, that, to be honest, don't really fit? I know I am!

Ashley Eckstein, voice of Ahoska Tano in the TV series Star Wars the Clone Wars, has decided to step up and design Star Wars clothes and accessories made specifically for fangirls! Her new clothing line is called Her Universe, and is available now online!

The website is http://www.heruniverse.com/.

This is the current list of items that are being sold now, their current price, and my opinion of them......

  • Star Wars Burnout-$30. I personally think this shirt is a great female makeover of the Star Wars logo. I want it for Christmas. :) My good friend Luke Skywalker has this shirt, and it is super soft!!!
  • Plo Koon and Ahsoka-$35. This shirt was designed by Clone Wars director Dave Filoni, and it is a cute shirt. I would probably get it if it had Anakin instead of Plo Koon. It is a neckline, so you might have to put a tee underneath it.
  • Padmé Nouveau-$30. Ahhhh!!!!! My favorite shirt, and the one that I own! :) It is a beautiful crimson, and it has a large picture of Padmé on it, and she's surrounded by her family, friends, and other meaningful Star Wars icons (such as the Millennium Falcon and the Lars homestead).
  • Luke Skywalker-$30. A humengous picture of Luke Skywalker from Empire is plastered over this shirt, which you can get in white or gray. I want the white version, though this is probably the last thing on my list.
  • Daddy's Little Girl-$35. This purple shirt was designed by Katie Cook. It showcases Leia and Vader. It's a cute idea, but it goes against my belief about the whole personage of Anakin and Vader and their respective roles in the lives of the twins.
  • Ahsoka Chibi-$30. This is such a cute shirt, perfect for the Padawans! On the front it says, "I am a Jedi Knight." On the back, "Or soon will be." Sadly, I don't look good in the colors of the shirt. I'm trying to convince my little sister to get this one.
  • Empire Strikes Back Thermal Hoodie-$40. It has a big picture of Vader and shiny stars on the front of it. It helps commerate the 30th anniversary of Empire, which was in May.
  • Empire Strikes Back Long Sleeve-$40. Pretty much the hoodie, but less warm.
  • "I Know"-$35. Designed by Cat Staggs. It has Han kissing Leia before he gets frozen in carbonite, and it features swirls and the words, "I Know". Meaningful words if you've seen the movie. :) I want this shirt. It matches my romantic, girly style.
  • Star Wars Hoodie-$50. It has a small verison of Vader on the front, and Star Wars on the back with manga drawings inside the letters. I would probably get this if it wasn't manga, and if the words, "May the Force be with you" were not placed where they are on the hoodie.
  • Rebel Alliance Necklace-$30. You can get this lovely necklace in either black or red. It has the symbol of the Rebel Alliance (!!!!!) on one side, and the other side says, "May The Force Be With You....Always". I want it in black.  I will admit that I thought it was a little big.
Wow! That has turned into a long post again! Christmas can not come soon enough for me!

Don't forget to check out Qui-Gon's post below!

Auditions, Auditions, Auditions

Hey guys, Qui-Gon here!
Soon, I"ll be auditioning for a musical at the Lynden theater called, The Christmas Schooner.
It's ok if you've never heard of this musical, because most people haven't.

Basically, for the audition, I have to sing 16 bars of a Broadway song, and do cold reads from the script.
My dilema is that I don't know WHAT to sing!
I'm thinking something Rodger's and Hammerstien because the music in this play seems to be similar.
So, any suggestions?
And, what would you like me to write about first? Tips, tricks? Anything, just ask.

Suffering and Silence--First Part

Hello all!
I, Padmé, am in the process of writing a book called Suffering and Silence. This is the intro to my Alternate Galaxy, in which Padmé does not die in childbirth like it is said at the end of Revenge of the Sith. I'll be putting out parts of the story twice a week.
Enjoy!

Padmé

She could feel the hands on her neck, choking her. She was gasping for air, precious air. He wouldn't let go. The hatred was burning in his eyes. He was a monster.
Padmé Amidala Skywalker's eyes flew open. She reached over for the comforting presence of Anakin, but the bed was empty. Her eyes filled with tears. He was dead.

Padmé reached over for her robe and got out of bed, drawing the robe close around her. She softly glided to the window and leaned against it, letting her hot forehead become cooled by the glass. The sun was slowly rising above the water, painting the sky with shades of pink, gold, and orange. The gentle wind moved gently through the trees, creating a soft music. Naboo was one of the most beautiful places in the galaxy. But Padmé's eyes did not see all the beauty. Her ears did not hear the sounds. Her heart did not take delight in the surroundings. For in her heart there was nothing but grayness and sorrow. All of her dreams, her hopes, her future had been shattered into a thousand pieces that could not be put together.

She reached up and took hold of a chain hanging around her neck. Her hand moved down to the carved japor pendent dangling against her heart. Padmé pressed the pendent to her crimson lips. She remembered in detail when Anakin had given the pendent to her. He was only a little boy of nine, leaving home for the first time. She had been fourteen, Queen of Naboo. He had left his mother, Shmi, back on Tatooine to remain as a slave. It was Anakin who had won the pod race that would enable Padmé and her two Jedi protectors, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan, to make their repairs to Padmé's ship and go on to Corsucant to save her people. The win had also freed Anakin to become Qui-Gon's Padawan.

Padmé had come into the room to find Anakin huddled on a chair, shivering. He told her that he was cold and she had informed him that space was cold. He had then given her the pendent, telling her that he had made it for her so she would never forget him. Padmé had assured him that she could never forget him.
“I'm going to marry you.” The little boy voice echoed in her mind. She had laughed, not believing him but he had insisted; because that's what he felt in his heart. Anakin had been a special boy. He had strong reflexes. He had the makings of a Jedi Knight.

After the Battle of Naboo and after the death of Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan took Anakin to be his Padawan, training him to become a Jedi.

Ten years later, Padmé's life had been in danger. Someone wanted to kill her. The Jedi Council assigned two Jedi to protect her. The two Jedi were Obi-Wan and Anakin. Obi-Wan set out to find her attacker, while Anakin took her to Naboo, to protect her. Little did the Jedi Council know that Anakin would break his tie to the Jedi, and marry.

Padmé walked out onto the balcony overlooking the water. Here is where they were married. She and he knew that what they were doing was wrong, but they believed with all their hearts that their love would protect them from everything.

Anakin and Padmé went to Tatooine, to save Anakin's mother from death. Anakin had had visions about her dying and he was worried about her. Anakin got to see his mother right before she died. He then took revenge on the Sand People who had captured her, killing them all. Little did they know that it was his first step down the path that would lead to his ruin.

The Clone Wars started, and as the battles raged on, Anakin and Padmé were increasingly separated. She worried about his safety constantly and he worried about her on Coruscant while she served in the Senate. Three years after the war started, Padmé met Anakin after a fierce battle over Coruscant with the news. He was to be a father. Anakin again had dreams as he had before his mother died. This time they were about Padmé.

Padmé sighed. Anakin had been so terrified about her dying. She remembered how he had vowed to save her from death. He went to Palpatine for advice. Padmé's lips tightened as she remembered Palpatine's kindly, fatherly face. Everyone had believed in him, hoping, praying that he would hold the fracturing Republic together. He was the Republic's greatest enemy.

She remembered in detail that last day. Anakin had been gone for hours. She listened for his footstep in the hall. The baby inside her had moved very fast that day, almost like it was scared of something. Obi-Wan had come in, wanting to know if she had seen Anakin. That was when he had guessed that Anakin and she were married. When dark fell that evening, Anakin had stopped by to tell her that there had been an uprising that afternoon, but everything was fine. He had to go on a mission but he would be home soon. Padmé closed her eyes tight, willing her mind to shut out everything. The Jedi Temple had been destroyed by a monster. Anakin Skywalker had died and a Sith Lord, Darth Vader, had been born in his place.

Palpatine had declared the Republic was no more. An Empire was created, with him as its' Emperor. The death of liberty had happened with applause, much to Padmé's horror. She believed in democracy.

She didn't really know why she had followed him. She wanted to talk to him, find out what was happening. Mustafar was a planet filled with lava. She found out then. Her husband was gone. He told her he did this for them, for their child and the other children they would have. They were going to overthrow Emperor Palpatine, and she and he would rule the galaxy together; going against all of Padmé's beliefs. She had started crying then, knowing that he had taken a path that she could not follow. Obi-Wan had come out from hiding in Padmé's ship to talk to Anakin. Vader was horrified. He accused Padmé of bringing Obi-Wan to kill him. In his anger, he Force-choked Padmé. She remembered no more.

Padmé had woken up in a medical station in space. Obi-Wan was there with her, encouraging her. He had fought with Vader, killing him. Twins were born to Padmé. A son who looked like his father and a daughter who looked like her mother. Luke and Leia.

The medical droid told Obi-Wan that Padmé would not live. Nothing was wrong with her physically, but she had lost the will to live. Her spirit was dying. Obi-Wan had walked over to Padmé. He sat down with Luke in his arms and told Padmé to look at him.

Curious

What do you want to see being posted in this blog? A big Star Wars conspiracy will be posted soon by me, but what else would you like to see happen?
Would you like to see book reviews from us both?

I'm an avid reader (can't you tell?) and am reading many books at the moment, but it takes me awhile to finish them with all the school work I have piled up. ;).
Please comment and let us know!

My Drama Class

I now know what I'm going to be learning in my upcoming weeks of class. The description is as follows:

"Students will be introduced to the basic approaches of an acting technique. They will learn methods based on the teachings of Michael Chekhov, Sanford Meisner, and Stanislavsky among others. The students will incorporate these techniques in scene study and character development."

I am hoping this doesn't mean we're going to be presenting scenes again. I much preferred what we did last semester, which was presenting a play that we all put on.

May the Father be with you until next time!

Padmé's Introduction

Hello! :) I am Padmé Amidala Skywalker.......the other half of this blogging endeavor.

I am a fifteen-year-old homeschooled sophomore. I am probably the most girliest of all girly-girls you will meet......although that may come as a surprise, seeing as how this blog is titled A Lightsaber and a Script. What? A girl liking Star Wars? What's up with that?
I'm here to tell you that Star Wars isn't just for boys! Most of my friends like Star Wars, even though I'm probably the one who is most a fan. We'll talk more about this later! ;)

I aspire to be an actress to be when I get older, and I'm going to start my seventh semester of drama in a few weeks. I cannot wait! I'm sure I'll have entertaining stories--because drama is the place where things happen!

I have so many great ideas for posts, but now is not the time or place. Be looking for more great posts from both Qui-Gon and myself! We love having followers, and right now we have none. :( Make us happy, please!

Qui-Gon Introduction

Hello all!
My name is Qui-Gon Jinn (I won't be giving you my real name at this point, sorry!)
I am 14 years old starting highschool next week, although technically I am homeschooled. And just to let you know, I am a girl.
My ultimate passion is acting, and I also happen to be obsessed with Star Wars.
This blog is meant to do two things. Provide information about Star Wars that you probably won't use later on in your life, but might want to know. And provide tips on acting for all you other aspiring actors out there.
I might occasionally be putting up a monoluge that I recorded, and Padme might do the same.
Padme is the ultimate Star Wars geek, and she knows EVERYTHING there is to know about it. She'll be giving you your Star Wars updates and pictures most of the time.

Anyway, follow us, it'll be worth it!

And excuse the shortness of this post, I'm in a little bit of a hurry but wanted to get something up!
